Responsible Gaming
Gambling Should Be Entertainment
At DamageAssist, we believe that gambling should only ever be viewed as a form of entertainment, not as a way to earn money or solve financial problems. Like any form of entertainment, it comes with costs and risks. Please only gamble with money you can afford to lose, and never use gambling as a means to generate income.
Age Verification
Gambling is only legal for individuals aged 18 years or older in the United Kingdom. We take age verification seriously and do not permit underage gambling on any affiliated betting sites. If you are under 18, please do not attempt to register or place bets.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
If you recognise any of the following signs in your own behaviour, it may indicate a problem with gambling:
- Chasing losses by gambling more to try to recover money lost
- Gambling with larger amounts of money than intended
- Hiding gambling activities from family, friends, or partners
- Borrowing money or going into debt to gamble
- Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, depression, or other negative emotions
- Neglecting work, education, or personal relationships due to gambling
- Feeling anxious, irritable, or restless when trying to cut down on gambling
- Lying about the amount of time or money spent gambling
- Failed attempts to stop or reduce gambling
- Experiencing financial difficulties as a direct result of gambling
Self-Help Tools & Controls
Most reputable betting sites offer tools to help you maintain control of your gambling:
- Deposit Limits: Set a maximum amount you are willing to deposit within a specified period (daily, weekly, or monthly)
- Loss Limits: Set a maximum amount of losses you are willing to accept before automatically stopping play
- Betting Limits: Control the maximum stake you can place on individual bets
- Reality Checks: Enable regular pop-up reminders showing how long you have been playing and how much you have spent
- Time-Out (Cool-Off Period): Temporarily suspend your account for a set period (days or weeks)
- Self-Exclusion: Permanently or temporarily close your account and restrict access to betting services
We strongly encourage you to use these tools if you feel your gambling is becoming problematic.
